Dr. Mike Ellman is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee injuries at Panorama Orthopedic and Spine Center. He brings unique experience treating athletes of all ages and currently serves as a consultant team physician for the United States Olympic Ski and Snowboard teams.
Dr. Ellman has special expertise in hip arthroscopy and treating femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and hip labral tears. These conditions are common in young and middle-aged athletes and were previously often undiagnosed. Through advanced arthroscopic techniques, he can successfully treat these complex hip injuries that cause significant pain and functional limitations.
His approach focuses on innovative surgical techniques that allow athletes to return to their sports and active lifestyles. Dr. Ellman’s extensive experience with elite athletes, combined with his research background in hip arthroscopy, enables him to provide specialized care for both recreational and competitive athletes.
Outside of work, Dr. Ellman enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, cheering on the Michigan Wolverines, and participating in outdoor activities including hiking, biking, basketball, and skiing.
